Trouble Comes in 3's

I'm not one for buying into cliche statements too often, but somehow I'm starting to think this one has something to it. My morning got off to quite a hectic start today. Not something you particularly look for in an ideal Saturday morning. It all started about 8:00 a.m.

Alarming:
My alarm system (which I don't really like using because I'm so afriad I'm going to set it off myself) starts beeping. Now this isn't "the burglar alarm." Trust me, that sound is easy to detect. I would have been stuck to the ceiling I would have jumped so high if that had gone off. This was just a quiet beeping on my alarm. I'm a fairly light sleeper, so it woke me up. I was a bit annoyed, to say the least. Saturday morning. 8:00 am. Me. Want. Sleep. I finally got up, however, to check it. There was a light flashing that I didn't know what it meant. I got my alarm system cheat sheet to check it out. After a simple test, I found out it was beeping because my phone line was not working (the alarm is connected to the phone, of course). This leads to my next problem...

Phoney Phones:
Yes, you got it, the phone line was dead. Gee, why not. My phone had been acting up as of late anyway, so I figured why not add that to the list. I quickly called the security people first to make sure they weren't sending anyone to my house (I would hate for police to check my house out since the line was down and find me in my pj's). Next, I called the phone company. I found out there was a widespread phone outage in my area, and they were working on fixing it. Ok, now I could get back to sleep. And I did, until about 10:30.

Not a drip to drop:
At 10:30 I finally got out of bed for good. I wasn't going to sleep with the alarm still beeping anyway. So I decided to make use of my time before David got to my house and get some cleaning and other house work done. I fed the kittens and then started washing some clothes. I noticed after a few minutes that I didn't hear the washer anymore. Hmmm, why would that be? Me being slightly under-educated (uhhh, stupid) in the ways of anything electrical, I had no idea what the problem was at first. It didn't take me long, when I went back to the sink, to figure out there wasn't any water coming in. Nice, very nice. Old houses have lot of charm. Apparently they don't have water (or heat, or air sometimes). I called my landlord, then headed to my mom's. No way I was going to see the tigers play without my shower!

The rest of my dad went more smoothly. As of right now 3 of 3 problems are resolved, yay! Alright Sunday, bring it on! What do you have for me? :)
