I always say that if you're going to make a resolution or change something in your life you might as well do it whenever it comes up. I still believe, but I guess a new year is as good a time as any to re-evaluate your life and think about what you can do to improve it. Here's what's on my mind:
1. Write more in my blog:
Note that my last entry was in July and it is now January- enough said.
2. Lose weight:
Yeah, it's cliche. Yeah, my fiance will hate this one. Still, wedding dress June 6th, Aruba June 7th. It must be done!
3. Be more positive about life:
I like to call my attitude and outlook on life realistic. Who am I kidding, I've been way too pessimistic lately.
4. Run in a race with David:
Yeah, we'll see. I would love to, but i'll have to have the heart and will to work up to it!
5. Drink more water:
This one will go a long way with helping with #2. I used to do it, hence I was a lot smaller than I am now :) Just takes a little getting used to and a lot more potty trips!
6. Perform at least one random act of kindness a week:
This one was inspired by the most awesome, thoughtful, and caring person I know... my fiance! I tend to think this isn't as hard or time consuming as it seems. Who knows, maybe I can work my way up to one or more a day.
7. Get back in to trained singing:
I wont have the time or money to take voice lessons, but I like to think I know enough to do some training for myself if I sit down with my mom and sing more.
8. Take more chances:
I used to pride myself in the fact that I was willing to take risks and chances, not so much anymore. Maybe it is gettng older, maybe it's work... who knows. I wanna get out there and do fun, spontaneous things! For me, it's what makes life interesting.
9. Have more self confidence and make decisions:
Again, we shall see. I would like '09 to be a year where I begin to look at myself (my body and my personality) as more precious than before. I believe getting in shape will begin to help that. I think that it goes beyond body image, also. I want to be more confident on the outside in making decisions and taking charge :)
10. Control my ADD:
No, I don't really have ADD, at least not diagnosed. I do get very wiggly and unfocused at times. I would like to work on becoming more patient and taking more time to be still. If nothing else, I wont drive others crazy quite as much.
11. Smile more:
David says he likes my smile very much. Maybe that means I should show it more!
12. Get outside more:
Activity=fun=more activity=healthier! Get it?
13. Do lots of little things that show my wonderful fiance/husband how much I love him!
Nothing speaks louder than actions, right?
14. Wait patiently for my wonderful, dashing, loving, caring fiance to get me a King Charles Spaniel puppy:
Yeah- where's his lottery ticket?
15. Spend lots of time with family and friends:
I am blessed to have wonderful familly and friends. I want to make it a point to not get so bogged down with work that I neglect them. After all, what is life without them in it?
16. Go to an exotic island:
CHECK!! Aruba, here we come on June 7th!
17. Spend as much time as possible worshiping and in quiet with Jesus :)
What better way to spend my time?
